Handcrafted in the UK by our experienced team, our BMW N47 / N47N / N47S decat downpipe is designed to improve exhaust flow and support increased performance in compatible BMW diesel vehicles.

Manufactured from high-quality 304-grade stainless steel, the downpipe features a 2.5-inch diameter construction and is designed to replace the factory catalytic converter (CAT) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) for dedicated off-road and motorsport applications.

Designed as a direct bolt-on replacement, the downpipe retains the factory exhaust outlet connection, allowing it to connect directly to the original exhaust system.

Unlike the original factory exhaust assembly, this downpipe does not retain the DPF pressure sensor pipe, as the differential pressure monitoring system is not required for its intended off-road or motorsport application.

Installation Information

This downpipe is designed as a direct bolt-on replacement, retaining the factory exhaust outlet connection.

Please note the following before installation:

Factory Exhaust Connection – Designed to connect directly to the standard exhaust system.
Turbo-to-Downpipe Clamp – The original turbo clamp can become heavily corroded over time and may break during removal. Replacement clamps are available separately from our website.
DPF Pressure Sensor – This downpipe does not include the factory differential pressure sensor pipe. The original DPF monitoring arrangement is therefore not retained.
Engine Compatibility – Please confirm your vehicle's engine code and existing exhaust configuration before ordering, particularly on models available with multiple diesel engine variants.
ECU Software Requirements – ECU software modifications may be required following installation to prevent engine management warning lights and running issues, including those associated with the original DPF monitoring system. Any modifications must be appropriate for the vehicle's intended off-road or motorsport use and comply with applicable regulations.

Professional installation is recommended.

All Groovy Stance decat downpipes are manufactured and sold strictly for off-road, motorsport and competition use only. They are not approved for use on public roads.

This product is designed to replace factory emissions-control equipment, including the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and/or catalytic converter, where applicable.

Removing or modifying emissions-control equipment can make a vehicle non-compliant with UK road-vehicle emissions regulations. A vehicle with required emissions-control equipment removed will fail its UK MOT inspection. Similar restrictions may apply in other countries.

By purchasing and/or installing this product, the customer acknowledges that:

This product is supplied exclusively for off-road, motorsport or competition applications.
The customer is responsible for ensuring their vehicle complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
The vehicle must not be operated on public roads in a configuration that breaches emissions or roadworthiness legislation.
Groovy Stance is not responsible for MOT or inspection failures, fines, penalties or other consequences arising from unlawful installation or use, to the extent permitted by law.
The vehicle must be returned to a road-legal, emissions-compliant configuration before being used on public roads or presented for a roadworthiness inspection.
